From the North Sea to the Baltic Sea and beyond – our Weekender Edition Hamburg brings you a collection of unique weekend escapes at the water’s edge.
We are captivated by the countless lakes, rivers, and seas in and around Hamburg. It’s been over a year since we set out to explore the region’s most pristine waters for Take Me to the Lakes – Hamburg Edition. It was on these travels that we discovered just how many exciting accommodations and excursions the region has to offer. Today, we are proud to introduce you to the newest addition to our Weekender series:
Weekender Edition Hamburg features 50 accommodations located at or near bodies of water. Our selection takes you from the outskirts of Hamburgall the way to the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. Across 336 pages we bring you tips from numerous hosts for local day-trips, detailed photographs of each accommodation, as well as illustrated maps with GPS coordinates.
We hope that our publications inspire you, not only to leave the city for a day, but to enjoy much longer escapes to the region’s countless shores and beaches. In this spirit, our curation includes an alluring selection of one-of-a-kind accommodations. Spend the night under a thatched roof between salt marshes and dunes. Sleep in a Wilhelminian style villa on a seemingly endless sandy beach. Curl up in an architectural homestead atop an untouched cliff. From treehouses to lighthouses, farmsteads to floating suites, all the accommodations featured in this travel guide form a harmonious bond between nature, design, and tradition.
Karo and Nils divulge their favourites. “Personally, I was really smitten by two holiday homes on the Danish island Møn. Both Birkedal and Black+Bright’s stunning architecture is complemented by playful floor plans and tasteful décor, all of which are definitely worth the drive.” Karo explains. “And I would always recommend Westerdeich 22 in Vollerwiek for a weekend getaway—the North Sea is just 200 metres from the house.”
So next time you want to slip out of Hamburg for a quick trip to the countryside, flip through the pages of your Weekender Edition Hamburg and choose whichever speaks to you most. We wish you many relaxing days at the water’s edge!
